The Pig Game Variant

‘So you want to escape from here by telling us we got the wrong guy?’ the voice spoke loudly. I felt him walk towards me. When he came close to me, I saw his face, and that’s when I realized, that’s the guy I just witnessed killing those policemen.

I realized the inevitable outcome of the situation, but having recalled the theory of probability, I felt it might be worth risking the 0.1 % chance of my survival in that situation.

-‘Believe me sir, it was not me, I did not see a thing. I was just returning home from work when your guys spotted me’

-‘Well, even if we consider it to be a coincidence, you now know what actually happened, which means we have to take you down’

An idea popped in my mind.

- ‘Sir if you agree with it being a coincidence, why can’t I get a fair chance of sparing my life?’

-‘Okay if that’s what you want, we can try Russian Roulette HAHAHAHAHA’

-‘But the gun is on your hands, it seems a bit one-sided’

-‘Final offer, let’s play Chess’

I did now know Chess, but just then, I saw two dices on a table, and I exclaimed ‘Hey do you know about the two-dice variant of the game Pig?’

-‘What’s that?’

-‘That, sir is a game in which the players roll two dices alternatively. The sum of the numbers gets added to the player’s score. If a single ‘1’ appears on any dice, the whole turn is lost, but, two ‘1’s will count in a score of 25. The fastest to score 100 or more is the winner. If the scores are more than 100 in same number of turns, then the one with the higher score wins’

-‘Hmmmm, sounds interesting, let’s give it a shot! If you win, I won’t shoot you, and if I win, you know what happens’

We started playing, and me having played this game for quite a long time in my school life, won the game easily, though there was a high amount of luck involved.

-‘Very well, you won the game. As promised I won’t shoot you, but you should have understood I still have a knife HAHAHAHAHA’

I was shocked, so I started running, confiding in the fact that since no one is going to shoot me now. After coming out of the room, I found myself in a huge maze. I recognized the maze. It was a very well known public maze! Who knew that these guys met in the buildings behind the maze! The maze looked complicated, but I remembered a way to solve it. Using the left-hand algorithm. I placed my left hand on the walls and ignored all right turns. Luckily the maze did not have any internal loops, and I managed to find the exit. As soon as I reached the exit, I was relieved to find the police searching the place. The game of pig that day saved me.
